John Public Awareness!

And we're back! After a brief hiatus where I conducted extensive research on tee-shirts I...Who am I kidding? I took a little vacation. BUT I did grab some cool shots of some sweet tees out there!

Musical themed shirts are nothing new. From the biggest bands to your indie favorite, every loves to rep their artist.

Take John Public. Probably the most underrated hip hop artist out of NY, he's been performing with some of the most well respected artists out there.

This right here is one of his ORIGINAL shirts. No idea how many were made but I can guess less than 500.

By keeping it simple in the logo design (which I love), it insures heavy rotation when it comes to gearing up for the day. Or night.

The point I want to make is this. No matter who it is, if you're a fan, rep them proud. I've had a number of people ask me about John Public because of this shirt and I'm happy to talk about my favorite rapper that more should know about.

Captain Tee-merica!

Before you go off on how I'm jumping the superhero bandwagon, I got this years ago! As cool as it looks, I have to say, it's hard to pull off. There's a reason why some things work better on the printed page rather than real life. Sure, I'll dust this off for the Captain America movie but this one is a better "idea" than "execution".

But it got me thinking which superhero costumes WOULD work on a tee...

Logos are always a good bet. Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Punisher...all classic designs. Maybe they should have just kept the star and got rid of the stripes.

Where can you grab this? IF you think you can pull it off, check online. As the movie gets closer, expect to see Hot Topic flooded with Captain America shirts.

It's Gonna Blow!

Sometimes you get a shirt just because you don't see it on everyone else. It's even better if it has a basic style that stands out.

And sometimes it sweetens the deal even more when it's on clearance!

This shirt right here fits the bill on all three points. I was flipping the hangers at my local Zumiez when I came across this one.

I wasn't familiar with the brand but I liked the look. It's an attention grabber, especially in this day and age of "don't offend anyone with hints of violence".

Where can you find this? Zumiez may still have a few. Maybe even a little online search can turn it up.
